Can you help?

Watford and the Langleys Rotary Club has been operating in the local area for over 15years and is responsible for events such as the Kings Langley Carnival and Christmas lights, as well as working very closely with the local schools and council over the years.

Unfortunately, due to sudden and regrettable internal reasons, the club is in need of restructuring as the membership is at a minimum and therefore the club has been told to close its doors and cease operating on the 31st December 2010.

This will mean the KL carnival and all of the other events and functions that the Club has done over the years will also cease on that date..

I need to recruit at least ten people into the club by the 31st December and continue with a brand new Watford and the Langleys Rotary. This will enable the Club to carry on with the carnival and other events which will benefit the young, old and needy within the community.

I hope that local companies, individuals and businesses in the Langleys and surrounding areas are willing and able to keep the club going with new ideas, a fresh start and also to have fun.

It will be a new, fresh and exciting time for this club, but it will need new faces coming to keep the club and carnival alive plus, bring in new ideas for further events in the local area.

It is all a very difficult time for everyone at the moment - financially and socially with not much spare time on anyone's hands to do very much - but if someone can do something at some time within the club then there will be great satisfaction as a whole to see things mature into worthwhile ventures.

If you would like to know more about the club and meeting times and what you need to do then please get in touch with me and I will arrange a time to meet up and take the club forward.

This club is open to all and its continuation and success very much depends on the response I receive from this appeal. Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you imminently.

Phil Maulkin (Rotarian)
